Colorado Real Estate: Urban Hip to Mountain Hideaway
Downtown Denver, or Flagstaff Mountain? Walk to sushi on Pearl Street, or step out your door and look at a heard of Elk?
These are some of the choices you have when it comes to Colorado real estate. With communities as varied as the skiers nirvana which is Summit County, to the urban retreat that is Stapleton in Denver. You'd be hard pressed to find another state in the union with perfect choices for the extreme sports nut, and the stay-at-home mom.
Or, are you a "foodie"? Well, just check out some of the fine dining choices in Boulder:For information on Boulder real estate check this link out.
Colorado also boasts a growing wine region.
The Colorado real estate market is currently in the news: and for all the wrong reasons. Yes, we do have quite a few foreclosures especially in the Denver region. But Denver in general, and most of the rest of the state is doing quite well. Louisville was voted #5 place to live in Money Magazine.
And Ft. Collins was voted Money Magazines top small town.
With all of the great amenities in this state, it just boggles the mind that we are not in the news for reasons other than the foreclosure rate. Personally, I just chuckle every time I read an article that boasts of the hard times that the Colorado real estate market is suffering. Sure, it's just anecdotal evidence, but three of my listings over the past week have gone under contract for 99%, 99%, and 100% of their list price. Doesn't exactly sound like a panicked, dying market does it?
Colorado remains a place that people dream about. Who wouldn't want to wake up on a Saturday morning, grab your Colorado Pass (a ski pass that costs about $329.00 and gets you season tickets to Breckinridge, Keystone, A-Basin, and 10 days at Vail or Beaver Creek), pack up your car and drive about an hour to an hour and a half to one of these world-class ski resorts for a half-day of skiing. You could even make it home in time to get a quick mountain bike ride in (because even if it's snowing and cold in the mountains, it's more than likely warm and sunny along the Front Range), and then out to dinner at one of your favorite restaurants.
Or, why not go to the Boulder Farmer's Market early on Saturday morning, then head out for a mid-morning hike at Boulder's crown jewel of outdoor activity and beauty: Chautaqua
And for those of you who are interested in purchasing housing in Colorado, I can tell you that the Colorado real estate market is doing just fine, thank you. Yes, there are foreclosures, yes the inventory is high in places, but the market has not collapsed because we never got the huge bubble-gains that California, Massachusetts, and Florida received. Like many of the Coloradans themselves, this state has seen a slow and steady increase in real estate values.
