Union Station

The exciting, mixed-use neighborhood of Union Station lies between the neighborhoods of LoDo and Highlands. While small (only six city-blocks long kind of small), Union Station offers more than a lot of bang for the buck.

All Aboard!

If visiting this area today, you'd never guess that warehouses and rail yards were that existed here some eight years ago. Now, in place of dilapidated buildings you'll find modern, high-end, loft-style condominium and apartment living spaces. All the residential spaces in this area are beautifully designed, using a great mix of glass, concrete, metal and wood. The outdoor landscapes are just as breathtaking as the architecture, combining park spaces, mature trees and bright flowers with an otherwise urban area.

The South Platte River runs directly through this neighborhood, making for spectacular neighborhood-kayaking sessions and fabulous recreational possibilities. With 90 acres of parks adjacent to the river, and a superb mountain view, it's easy to forget you're even in the city. But, if the city calls, walk across a few striking architectural bridges, or follow the (next-to-the-river) bike path, and you'll find yourself back in the center of it all.

The amazing residential development in this area has given way to a shabby-chic and charming array of high-end, specialized stores. Mornings are a breeze with Ink! Coffee just steps from your bedroom, and nights don't have to mean going to LoDo with trendy restaurants like Zengo and McLaughlins out your front door. On the other side of the park, stellar shopping awaits at Zen Dog (for that spoiled pooch of yours), Common Era Boutique, Phoebe's and Metroboom. Denver's newest museum, The Museum of Contemporary Art, is under construction and will also be a part of this eclectic urban space.

Whether shopping, dining, playing outside or just relaxing, the Union Station neighborhood satisfies. This is downtown living without the chaos (but with the perks) of downtown.
