University Hills
Just a few miles southeast of downtown Denver lays the beautiful settlement of University Hills, Colorado. A triangular-shaped community, it is bordered on the east by interstate 25, and on the west by Colorado Blvd., giving its residents very easy access to all of the amenities the surrounding areas have to offer.

Food and Flicks
Many years ago, the Doud family moved to Colorado with their daughter Mamie, who was 7 at the time. They eventually settled here and Maime grew up to marry Dwight D. Eisenhower and become the First Lady of the United States. In her honor, a beautiful city park was dedicated here in her name.
The Maime Doud Eisenhower Park features an outdoor pool, a recreation center, tennis courts, picnic facilities, walking paths, and a soccer field. A full 8 blocks long, it features beautiful flowers everywhere in the spring, summer and early fall.
University Hills is comprised mostly of single-family dwellings, many of which are very upscale. There is a modest amount of renovation, restoration and new home construction in the area at this time.
A drive (or stroll) down Colorado Blvd. reveals two great shopping areas - University Hills Plaza and University Hills Mall. They are adjacent to each other separated only by Yale Ave. Some very unique businesses can be found here, one of which is the Chez Artiste Theatre. Just a short distance from the University of Denver, this theatre features the finest in independent films and foreign language cinemas. With 3 auditoriums, it received the Best Movie Theatre award in 2002 as voted by readers of "Out Front Colorado".
Another very popular establishment is the Sunflower Market. A low-priced natural foods store, the Sunflower Market buys their products directly from Colorado farmers and manufacturers, and offers specials each week. Their motto is "serious food - silly prices".
With Beau Jo's - home of the Colorado-style pizza and the Wellshire Municiple Golf Course across the street, University Hills is a very attractive place to live.
